A CRJ sized carry on? The extra 5-10 minutes waiting for the gate check bag might kill you.

Worst case scenario here is that you arrive far down in B/C concourse, meaning about 1/4 of a mile walk to the tunnel, then the 1/4 mile tunnel, then an extreme (A1-10, A70+) gate. Easily doable in 20 minutes if you're on time, DTW is pretty empty past 7PM most nights.
