Is there not an earlier LIH-LAX AA flight you could take instead? BA should rebook you on that if it has availability, and if the length of connection suits you.
Just one flight a day unfortunately, retimed to leave two hours later than the original time which makes it impossible to make a connection in LA to NY on the same day
I can't see an AA code share with Hawaiian - LIH-HNL isn't bookable on AA.com and Google Flights doesn't show any Oneworld flights between the two islands
