On the 1st Aug, they changed me from QPPS2 to QPPS3. This qualifying year was only 9 months not 12.
I now have 15 months to get my next 25 credits.
So sometimes they do shorten the year.
Similar thing just happened to me. I needed the 25 sectors/50K miles to requalify by February 28 '05. I got the necessary sectors sometime in September, if I recall correctly. Nothing changed for a couple of months (i.e., I was still QPP3), but in December my status has been changed to QPP4 and the online account balance has been reset, so it now shows I need the required miles to requalify by February 28,
2006. So I now have an extra 3 months to requalify. I seem to recall this happened before, so maybe it is standard practice.
