Canada - HK is notoriously hard to redeem and CX is typically stingy. This has been the case before the pandemic and the lack of flights these days just make things worse. Agree to keep an eye on connecting through Japan as JL has decent availability out of YVR. I haven't been able to find seats every day but they do show up every now and then.
