I happen to shop a lot at Saks and they have tens of thousands of items that they ship on their own and are not drop shipped. For me it's quite rare that any of my items should be shipped by a third party and I've been shopping with them online for many years.
Any item that is being drop shipped will clearly state the following in the shopping cart- "ships from vendor, shipping time may vary".
If you don't want to order an item that will be shipped directly from the vendor and that may have you potentially run into issues then these are the items to stay away from. Just make sure to buy items that don't have that statement near them and you will not have such shipping issues. I usually get my orders within 3 to 4 days of placing them - not shipped, but delivered to me by then.

I cannot find on that page where it says anything about third-party vendor or that shipping time may vary. Where would I see this? I was not aware it was being shipped by vendor until after it was delayed and I reached out to customer service and they informed me of this.
