Recently snatched a J in ANA NRT-PVG in May 2023, via Aeroplan. 30K points for 3.5 hours in ANA J (787-9 or -10) isn’t bad. I tried to call AC to add it to my long haul for 25K, but couldn’t get thru via phone center, so I just made the booking online as a separate tickets. The 5K difference in aeroplan roughly translates to $100 change fee anyway… and yes I paid extra partner booking charge, but I rather not miss out on the J as it was the only J available for the flight.
