I would think things will be pretty much back to normal by then, but who knows. At least the holiday crowds will be gone.

I wouldn't cancel yet. If you really have to be somewhere, I'd book a refundable back-up on another carrier, and either cancel that if WN is back to normal by then, or cancel your WN reservation if not and submit the back-up airline's receipt to get reimbursed (but assume they won't actually reimburse it).

Data point: I have a friend trying to get back to TPA on WN today. He said everything cancelled at that airport and the soonest they could get him out would be NEXT Tuesday, Jan. 3, a full week from now! Unbelievable.

He is renting a car. Google Maps says it is about 20 hours of driving.
