Stayed here Christmas night. My Southwest flight out of SNA had been cancelled and I re-routed to fly from LAX. Decided to stay here to avoid any morning mishaps (well --- at least not airline mishaps) heading out.
Front desk guy super friendly on check-in. Given water and offered late checkout, which I declined because of an early flight. Asked if there were any suites available, and was happily given one. The hotel was otherwise pretty slammed. Bellmen were backed up but what looked like a security guy helped us with our luggage to the elevator.
Downstairs bar and coffee shop were still super busy at 9pm. Bar staff pretty much ignored me and didn't make eye contact for 10 minutes, but after the bad first impression, when they finished up the order backlog they were working on were actually super attentive and friendly. Ordered a glass of champagne and got what amounted to a 12-ounce pour.
Left before breakfast time, so no data point there -- shuttle to LAX had a huge crowd but were operating very efficiently. Several shuttles consecutively -- and the shuttle guy, when he dropped us off helped us with our luggage, ran into the terminal and snagged us a luggage cart that he spotted was free. Full service there!
Overall -- for an airport Hyatt, was generally pleased. I'd stay here again for a morning flight.
