I have a quick question for the forum. We were scheduled on AC793 Dec 23rd, YYZ-LAX which was cancelled, and we were rebooked and flew the next day on AC791. The Super Elite concierge staff were very helpful when we got through to them, and we were very impressed by their professionalism under difficult circumstances. Unfortunately, our checked luggage did not make our new flight.
Can anyone shed some light on the process of checked bags being forwarded following a cancelled flight? We’ve been told that the bags were loaded on a flight on Dec 24th, but that flight was also cancelled and that was the last time they were scanned. Also, while we were delayed in YYZ we were told that all checked bags were brought into the baggage hall next to the secured USA baggage hall, ours included. But from a security standpoint that doesn’t make any sense with the public access to those bags. Where would the in-transit bags be stored? Would bags loaded into a ULD on a cancelled flight be unloaded, or simply set aside and reloaded for the next available flight?
