Just wanted to provide some data to correct your unintentional mis information on global services. from 2007-2013 it was based upon spend. This is no longer the case. Almost all memberships are to media and to corporate travel agents.
I have over 90K PQPs this year and am still 1K. If you are grandfathered in then good for you but this is a lifetime status based upon your spend in 2018 thing not a loyalty thing. I got missed this year for upgrades on every one of my rare economy flights due to extended status and corporate travel GS extensions. The reality is that United does NOT reward loyalty for the past 6 years—they reward a corporate lobby, media and spend in 2018. Just fly the best product you can. Sometimes that is United, other times it’s ANA, Singapore, Jet Blue Mint or Quantas. I’ve earned over 150K PQPs in 2 years and get passed over for an upgrade for people who are cozy with the travel agent and people who have flown 2 flights a year for three years. This is not rewarding loyalty. If United is the best product (and often it is) then fly it but don’t expect them to reward you for it. GS is a corrupt scam not a royalty process.
You can see my screenshot I can send you from this year (once I post 5 messages then I can send pic but it denied me) and I can send detailed statements if you doubt it.

First post on FT and you're on here lecturing about misinformation? Doubt anyone cares about your screenshots, why don't you chill and wait until second week of January when most GS for new members are granted (as there are thousands of posts on this point?) If you really spent 90K on United metal, you'll get a nice GS invite in two weeks. Check the wiki and all of the other threads, and then nicely ask for a challenge if you don't get invited in January.
