Ben at OMAAT also has ehcoed similar complaints. I love my B&R backpack and my travelpro carry-on; decided on a travelpro for a new checked bag though as B&R was just too much for something that gets used 1-2 times per year. Both seem to have warranties they stand behind while the 'new tumi' unfortunately does not.
