Just back from Wanaka and I can highly recommend Lakeside Apartments. Yes, I know it's not a points hotel, but super comfortable and roomy with views to die for. They have 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units. It was the highlight accommodation of our last trip. (Better than the Park Hyatt in Auckland.) I'd also seriously consider staying in Wanaka rather than making the drive to/from Queenstown, unless you really like driving winding mountain roads, while in the left lane.
