Thoughts on 6 hour connection on separate tickets CX to AA at AMS.

So, we will be traversing AMS later this week. We are flight BKK-HKG-AMS on CX in Biz as OW Emeralds and then connecting to AA to PHL in Biz as well. Separate tickets but it at least looks like CX will interline bags for us on such an itinerary, at least according to their web site. That just leaves getting boarding passes. I guess its possible to do mobile checkin with AA and get the boarding passes but never had any luck with that on international. So, if that is the case, I am thinking we will need to clear immigration and go to the counter as I doubt AA has any transfer facilities. What would people suggest for the best shower options? It looks like the Aspire lounge charges and also has a 3 hour limit. We found the lounge very limited in what it offered and not that great overall. Would a 4 hour booking at the Mercure be a better option in your opinions? Any other thoughts on how to kill the time as comfortable as possible would be appreciated.
