What is your Priority Club status?
Ambassador Diamond
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay?
Yes. Booked the hotel only for the reason to try it out after staying near the airport and a stay in the Kimpton Vintage, which is literally round the corner. Booking was made with points.
Checked it at 15:00 as the only guest, so no waiting time.
As the agent retrieved the reservation and checked my ID, he thanked me for being Diamond and told me he upgraded me to a corner room on the 28th floor.
I received welcome points and breakfast as according to the check in agent Breakfast is a standard amenity for Diamonds and I could choose between points and amenity and as the hotel does not provided the amenity. I even asked if he was sure as this was not my understanding, he insisted to give me both … He explained location of restaurant and gym and told me when breakfast is served, and the restaurant is open.
The room had two large windows to each side offering view to the Space Needle and Pike District. The hallway with large closet lead to the room.
A desk large enough to work with a desk lamp and a desk chair. Flat TV on a sideboard facing the bed. An armchair with a small table were next to one of the windows. A standing lamp was there as well.
The bathroom was okay size with large sink with mirror, toilet and bath. No shower.
A Keuling Capsule machine was available. Two small water bottles were available as well. A minifridge was also available.
A small fitness center is available on the fifth floor. During my visit in the late afternoon many used towels were placed throughout the gym. The towels were already lying there as i checked out the gym 3 hours earlier. Obviously, nobody checked the gym during this time.
Breakfast is served from 06:30 to 10:00 on weekday and till 11:00 on weekends.
Breakfast is served as buffet on the second floor. Available were fresh fruit, cereals, pastries, and bagels in addition to cream cheese and jam. Hot items were potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages.
I had dinner in the bar / restaurant in the evening. I went with a salad which was a bit lackluster in regard to presentation, but the portion was large, and it tasted not bad.
Service was okay, a bit disorganized. First, I received the wrong folio for a different table which was much higher. On the correct folio they forgot an item …
Lobby is Atrium style with a airy feeling. It is not very big, but does not feel cramped.
Check out was good. I mixed up room numbers and they remained friendly and tried to sort it out. The front desk manager stopped by to thank me for my loyalty and asked if everything was okay. Was addressed by name.
University Street Station is three blocks away, but the hotel is uphill.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked Standard room and received Premium Room corner room on a higher floor. This is basically a two-category upgrade (from low floor Standard).
How are the rooms?
The hotel is an older building (I would say from the 80ies), but the rooms were renovated as was the hotel.
Room was in good condition. Contemporary styled with barely any wear and tear. Only the unit for the air condition needed some firmer inputs to accept the settings. Mattress was firm. With the exception of the hallway, there was not central light switch. Every lamp (Standing lamp, desk lamp, bedside table lamps) needed to be turned off individually.
The number of sockets to plug in laptop and chargers were imo a bit low.
Water pressure of the shower was okay, though the shower head could not adjusted to another setting. Shampoo, bath gel etc. were provided from wall mounted dispensers. Towels were provided for two persons.
The flexible rate was close to 190 USD. I decided to use 22.000 points per night.
How is the exec. lounge?
N/A

Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return?
The location is good. The rooms are of a good size and offer from the higher floors good views. Good breakfast for a hotel in the US. Staff is friendly. Room is in good condition.
