Why would you go through all of this? This card is for frequent travelers. Don't you plan on traveling at least once in a 12 month period?
I normally like to utilize credits, as they become available, to ensure I don't forget about them or waste them.
Delta is normally my airline of choice, so booking tickets, and cancelling them for ecredits, between the Venture X and Amex Platinum, is one way to use multiple credits for planning longer flights.
