No sense going in circles, but if that was the law, seems like people would be winning cases or receiving payouts on a daily basis.
The situation is bizarre. JAL allowed OP to choose two J seats from LAX to BKK via Tokyo "last week," but then the reservation suddenly disappeared on Dec. 21, after receiving a pre-departure email? If the rescheduling had occurred three months ago, what would explain this other than shenanigans on JAL's part?
