It finally dawned on me that, even in economy, my sparkly diamond status might carry me through to the al Maha lounge and its access to the "enhanced immigration" I use when arriving as a business-class passenger.
To check, i looked up al Maha services on QR website. Not surprisingly It's a wordy nonsense: al Maha services are maybe complimentary, maybe 10% discount, certainly need to be booked in advance.
I sent a message asking if i could simply present my diamond-embossed boarding card to get through to the fast immigration service. Whoever received my mail might have had a stab at understanding what i wanted to know, but failed: sent me a a cut and paste job which largely copied the website guff. That's OK, it's QR.
So i tried to book the (probably free) Gold service online, just to make sure I'd be covered. To do that you need to register for a an account separate to the Privilege Club one, which i did, but still got a payment page for the Gold service.
At which point i gave up and came to look on Flyertalk. Which of course came up trumps. I just hope the Diamond magic still works - any updates?
