We're getting close to our Christmas trip, and our daughter is sick. It's looking possible that we may have to cancel our reservation, but we paid to upgrade our economy tickets to first class each way after purchase. In the end, the upgrade fees were more than the cost of the original tickets (and my wife's ticket was purchased using a flight credit). Will the upgrade fees be credited along with the airfare or will they be lost?

Also, is it a problem that my wife's ticket was purchased with a flight credit?

I'm worried we're going to get screwed by fine print that I can't find. Does anyone know where all the fine print on their flight credit issuing policy is? I can only find their refund policy.
