Name on ticket reservation, how many characters?
Hi all, was hoping someone can help me out regarding names on tickets/passports. I booked tickets through ANA for EVA flights next year and I don't really understand if I entered our names correctly. I booked it via miles, and ANA's guidance says to register the family member within your account if booking for other family members www(.)ana.co.jp/en/jp/amc/reference/merit/procedure/intro_invalid/. The system limitation is that it cannot exceed 23 characters. I entered 11/12 characters of a first name, and the full last name for one of my members (which I realize may be incorrect since it technically says I should've just added the first initial), and then I entered the full name + 3/5 characters of my middle name for myself, which I guess may have also been incorrect as well since it should've been first name + first initial of middle name.
Aside from that, there is also this guidance from the ANA website about entering names when making reservations www(.)ana.co.jp/en/us/be1/ , on the bottom it says up to 48 characters can be entered, which is conflicting to the first link that only 23 characters can be entered. Since I made the reservation through awards, it pulled the names from my family tree, so I couldn't type in a name myself. Given this, I'm confused now if I have to cancel my tickets, change the names, then rebook all because of the conflicting guidance.
Does anyone have any insight on this at all? Am I being overly paranoid or will this cause me problems when I get to the airport?
