Nothing wrong with the rooms. They're unexceptional but not tatty, scuffed, dirty, or worn. I don't know when the last refurb was done (if there was one) but the Club rooms come across as a standard business hotel. For comparison, I remember when the Le Meridien was refurbished and its Club Lounge was closed about 6-8 years ago some time because they had a remarkable alternative for elites which let you eat in the regular buffet with free flow all evening. It was great. So the LeM has been refurbished in living memory and is a more modern hotel in its decoration. The Sheraton I remember from the same period was definitely worn and an older hotel but I've not stayed there in six years.

Hopefully you'll get one of the residential suites as an elite which will give you some more room although these suites are showing their age a bit more (from my last stay before the Great Plague about three years ago) than the Club rooms.
