I didn't love DCA when I was in/out of it last year. Plus points for the quick metro ride downtown, and being small and easy to navigate. But I really am not a fan of separate security for each block of gates; once you're through you're stuck in your nook of the airport.
As of Nov 9 2021, TSA security was centralized in Terminals B/C at DCA, allowing free movement between concourses and making National Hall entirely airside. It makes it a much more attractive connecting hub.
