I dislike all the CLT hatred. After RDU it's my most used airport. The fact is, as an airport it works. They have a lot of runways and a lot of taxiways and there's room to expand. They don't have meltdowns at the first sign of weather like the NYC airports and PHL. They aren't hemmed in by water like DCA, LGA and SFO.

The terminal is unpleasant, yes. But plenty of terminals are unpleasant too. DFW Terminal C minus four or five gates is identical to how it was in 2002. And CLT opens up the southeast in a way that American never had before the merger.

It's fashionable to bash anything PM-US but I think people are wrong about CLT.
