This was my opinion until last month, coming back from Japan. With Global Entry and the tram between terminals it was honestly a breeze. Vastly better than my last experience back in 2019. I don't know if the tram is new or what, last time around I remember taking a bus and it was a pain in the ....
DFW objectively is probably hard to beat between number of destinations, lounges, restaurants, SkyLink, etc. With that said I feel like the regional service out of there has frequently been hit or miss for me.
Bucking the trend a bit here - I didn't love DCA when I was in/out of it last year. Plus points for the quick metro ride downtown, and being small and easy to navigate. But I really am not a fan of separate security for each block of gates; once you're through you're stuck in your nook of the airport.
As much as people (justifiably) don't love CLT as an airport to connect through, I really like it as a home airport. Tons of direct destinations, a lot of recent investment, Centurion and the couple A/C's. No real great standout restaurants but a good variety of places to eat and grab a beer. Easily walkable. Even without lounge access, if you've got some time to kill between flights usually you can find a quiet spot far off in the 'A' area; seems like there's never much activity over there.
