Just got word that the Maldivian government will impose a higher Tourism Goods and Services tax effective January 1st, going from 12% to 16%. So add 4% on top of the usual prices. I know some properties, like St Regis Maldives where I have clients booked is allowing customers to pre-pay bookings this side of the year to not be hit by the increase in tax.
