My pre-departure champagne was a slightly improved serving over earlier trips.
Hot towels were offered before the bar service. I wish the nuts would return to being served in a ramekin.
The lunch tray looked a little crowded, as the crew elected to serve both my starter and soup at the same time.
The bulgar and carrot salad was offered to everyone and came pre-placed on the tray; this was fresh and quite flavourful for such a small dish.
The roasted British beef salad was excellent.
The roasted cauliflower soup was fine, if a little salty. I'd have preferred for this to have been served with the bowl on a plate as a separate course, like it was pre-pandemic.
The pan seared North Atlantic cod was much better cooked than I had expected, and despite appearances was still soft and flaky. This was an excellent light choice.
Naturally, I opted for both cheese and dessert which were served at the same time.
The cheese board was nicely presented.
Despite being served cold (as the other dessert option is the only hot choice, even if not marked as such), the British apple crumble was great.
A peppermint tea concluded the lunch service, served with a chocolate.
I wasn't hungry enough to have the afternoon tea, but from what I could see being served to other passengers, this looked to be back to its pre-pandemic best (or worst, depending on your view).
I made do with a coffee, which was served with biscuits.
It's great to have Club World catering back to almost pre-pandemic quantity and quality. This was a great flight, and puts BA's longhaul business class back in competition with most other major airlines.
