CP Bangkok Lumpini Park
CP Bangkok Lumpini Park
What is your Priority Club status? Diamond
Were you (or for multi-stayers are you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? When we booked our flights in the summer, the newly renovated IC was due to reopen in December. Disappointingly this date was pushed back. CP was not our first choice of accommodation. Having said that, it met our requirements which were club lounge, pool/spa and gym.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? We We booked a club room and used our suite upgrade voucher as this was our first five night stay since earning it.
How are the rooms? Large. We were at the end of a corridor so it was quiet. Both windows overlooked the park. There was a small cloakroom as you entered. The living room with sofa, armchair, coffee table and desk was next. You went through to the bedroom, which had a king bed, another arm chair and foot stool. To the left of the bedroom was a dressing room with a double wardrobe containing the safe, bathrobes and slippers. Opposite this was the minibar and Nespresso machine. The last room was an internal bathroom. This had his’n’hers basins, bath, separate shower and toto lav. There were 10 large bottles of Apotheke amenities between the bathroom and cloakroom, some bolted to the wall, others were free standing.
How is the exec. lounge? We We ate breakfast in the restaurant as the selection was wider. Afternoon tea was poor. Just sandwiches, scones, cakes and fruit. We didn’t bother most days as we were busy out and about. Happy hour was good. Lots of drinks to choose from. Beer, wine, most spirits plus a cocktail list. The food was lovely. Three hot canapés every evening plus one cold. In the five nights that we were there, canapés were always different. Charcuterie and cheeseboard. Salad bar, bread basket, fresh fruit and desserts. The staff came round offered more drinks several times during the evening.
What was good and what was bad? Good Good - given points plus two vouchers for cocktails and a snack as our welcome amenity. At check in we received a silk elephant as a gift. Breakfast in the restaurant was a veritable smorgasbord. There was an egg station and noodle station, a dim sum corner, a Japanese selection, Asian dishes plus a large Western selection. The staff were amazing. I ordered a decaf latte on the first morning and they remembered my choice for the rest of the stay. Loungers were always available at the pool. Sometimes we had the pool and gym to ourselves. Lovely fresh cut orchids in the room, replaced during our stay.
Bad - the pool wasn’t very warm. The sauna was out of order.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points? Would you return? This hotel was good value, particularly with the suite. But, the IC is better located for our preferred activities so we are going to go back there next time. IF the refurb is finished.
