Hand of Man is a very different (from what I saw on local TV news when I first became aware of it) from the BC Provincial (a.k.a Royal BC) Museum. It could even be a glorified antique/collectible store. Nothing on display has to have a connection to B.C., other than being physically located in B.C.

It's also in Maple Bay (other side of Duncan) and must be at least 30 minutes away from Villa Eyrie. Villa Eyrie in turn is near the summit of the Malahat (highest-elevation highway on VI). You could get to or from there and Butchart Gardens using the Mill Bay-Brentwood Bay ferry. Be aware this ferry is small and capacity limited. One alternative route is to take Finlayson Arm Rd to Millstream/Millstream Lake Rd, Ross Durrance Rd to Willis Point Rd to West Saanich Rd. Disclaimer: I haven't actually travelled on the middle 3 roads.
