On US Amex Platinum accounts, additional user Platinum card holders on the same account get included access to the Centurion lounges on the same term as the primary card holder: no additional guest charge (nor spend requirement) for the additional user Platinum card holders on the account to access the lounge.

Indeed it’s all about wanting to boost revenue and income. I have my doubts that the elimination of additional guests on most Platinum cards will do much of anything to thin out the crowd in the lounges during my trips. But that’s because I’m anticipating a boost in AU cards to make lounge crowding worse for at least some of my trips..
