I don't see it is having perks reduced, at least in practice. How many people stopped in T7 to be in the CCR before hopping an AA regional flight to Cincinnati? Or even an AA flight to Charlotte or Miami or Orlando? Just because now everything is in the same terminal, doesn't mean that access to Chelsea should be on all AA flights, or that the joint lounge should automatically adopt the access rules of the CCR in LHR. Because even the CCR at JFK, effectively, didn't operate the same way before.

When flying BA, or AA on qualifying itineraries (long-haul international, premium transcon, and certain Hawaii routes), CKs have access to Chelsea. They should ensure GGLs have that access, as well, and be done with it.

I think if BA insists on Chelsea access for GGLs on all domestic itineraries (again, not really something that happened in practice before, anyway, so people are looking for more here than what they previously got in practice), then I'm sure AA would be happy to have them cover 100% of the costs for GGLs accessing on what are currently "non-qualifying" itineraries. Whether that's something BA wants to fork over more money for is another matter.
