ETA: The schedule is still only updated till March 25. Interestingly, while keeping an eye on this flight the last few months, looking for flights in May brought up JL3, it doesn't anymore. In fact, the only NYC-TYO nonstop i can see over the first three weeks in May, is the HND at 1330.

Until JAL's route suspensions specifically says that JL3 is suspended until the end of May, Alaska won't be able to do a free change for you.
