The system obviously has the capability to modify SNA expiration dates on a large scale. That was done during Covid.
It wound be a much-appreciated end-of-year "gift" to Marriott Bonvoy members who have achieved 50 or 75 nights, selected SNAs in good faith, but have been frustrated and disappointed by the inability to use them. Keeping loyal guests happy and loyal is good business.
In the long run, Marriott Bonvoy needs to tune the whole SNA program. SNAs should probably be good for 36 months to begin with. There should be more incentives for hotels to open inventory to honor them. I assume many suites and desirable rooms currently sit empty on nights when members' SNA requests failed.
