I would say the majority of my AS flights have been in Saver; I only started booking MC occasionally this year. Never had any problems as I usually try to sit as far back as possible if I'm not in the exit row or Premium. Last month I did a JFK-SFO-JFK mileage run in Saver and it actually let me select the exit row as a MVP both ways, though once booked I could not change my seat selection.
