I had nice little J class tickets from AKL to MXP inn February. Wanted to change and saw 1st Class to London available. In the middle of it all the system said No dice and now my PNR with Cathay has been changed to waitlist (waiting for ticketing) 1st class and lost the J class altogether. Alaska ( 2 hours on chat) say no flights available and will not ticket. The agent ", there isn't first class space available on Jan 26 and your original space has been lost. Would you like us to cancel and refund this ticket for you to restart? Would you like us to see when the next first class is available?"

I have no flights out of Auckland now. My miles are in ether and will be down valued imminently .....
I only bought 60K miles to top up for first class......SMH I cannot see how this happened.
The original ticket should not have cancelled until it was exchanged for the replacement! Alaska system is seriously lacking and is going to cost me an arm and a leg.
Will they give miles for comp?
