In UK airports they have two types of sealed bags. One for transit purposes that is clear and has a pocket for the receipt. And a non clear one which is to remind you not to open the alcohol until you have left the UK.

In Stansted, they should ja e asked you if you had a connecting flight and provided the appropriate bag. Sadly that did not happen, and security acted as they should.
