Airlines don't change names as a rule. Either work with the advise noted or cancel and purchase another ticket with the "correct" name.
For me, the middle name isn't on most ticket and the suffix isn't on most ticket; but both are on the passport; but I do travel quite a bit and the airlines and immigration are well aware of me. For the individual that doesn't travel much the name should the name on the passport and the birthdate should be the date on the passport.
Do not mention the discrepancy to the gate agent or to immigration. Never a good ideal to draw attention to yourself.
