Marriott.com will not even let you add Suite Night Award requests to reservations with nights beyond the SNA expiration date.
The Marriott Bonvoy program could gain a lot of goodwill from members by adding 6 months (or more) to SNAs that are expiring December 31, 2022. There's still time. Sadly, I don't expect this to happen.
I have 8 SNAs expiring December 31, 2022. It's not as if I did not try to use them. Either the SNA requests failed or SNAs could not be attached to a reservation in the first place. Having SNAs expire, despite having tried to use them, adds insult to injury.
I like the concept of the SNA program. If each SNA would actually result in an upgrade to a suite, a junior suite, or a genuinely upgraded room, it would be great. I don't expect 100% success. But when the SNA is then deleted due to the expiration date, it greatly diminishes the value of the SNA program -- and reduces the incentive to stay enough nights to earn SNAs.
