Why are some airports so loud and others not?
Airports in the US are so loud sometimes. I regularly fly out of DFW and all I hear is "beep beep beep, cart coming through!" from those golf carts. Then there are the constant announcements from TSA and gate agents.
I was recently in Zurich and the airport was so quiet. It almost felt like I was in a library. When the boarded the plane, they didn't make constant announcements. Instead, the screen just displayed the boarding time. The only thing the agent said was the group boarding numbers.
Do you think it's based on the design of the airport and how gates are laid out or just culturally people are quieter/louder in some places?
