You need to be aware that UX doesnt have a premium economy class , only economy or business
Therefore this wasnt adressed in the charts when UX left FB and started Suma
As you mentionned , the planes are leased from norse atlantic , and UX needed to create at least 1 booking class for this , otherwise they would have miss some cash by selling W as Y price
The letter they choose internally was probably already assigned and they just decided to reassign it .
For Suma members it probably doesnt change anything , or they probably earn more than regular Y ticket , but for for other FFP members it does as you found out , however UX most likely dont care , or consider its not worth to kick-in the chart's update process
Remember there are lot of skyteam members and potential partners , and its not just simply "send an email , ask all members to update a chart on their websites" but also lot of work and new agreements to sign and financial consequences to consider
So you can easily understand why UX isnt rushing just because of temporary leased planes offering a new cabin cause it was already there,, not due to investment done by UX like KLM did with their new premium economy (i expect new charts for KLM will appear soon in other skyteam airlines websites, if not already done yet)
The chart is still "accurate" , until FB officially declare its not valid anymore and a new version will be published . You just discovered the joys of FFP charts between airlines partners and how communication "works well" and they are all "customer focused"
In this case its clear about what you could get , and at least you canm earn miles + XP . If you think this is bad i will glady suggest to have fun with TP , AC or A3 as flyer using another star alliance FFP , trust me after that you will love flying blue for this matter
Thanks for this detailed answer !
No it is one way direct flight, taxes of only 25 euros, you can get it down to 24k and 130 euros taxes.
You are right, as this a temporary offer with the leased plane, they probably won’t make a huge change to to their fare class. Also SUMA members earn based on spending like FB on AF/KLM so fare class does not matter at all for a SUMA member flying on UX.
I am not familiar with other FFPs to be frank but good to know it is “simpler” in FB on this aspect.
