Completed a 12,000 point stay on Nov, 12, 2021. Valet Parking was free and easy. Absolutely amazing stay and great treatment for Globalists. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite facing the courtyard upon a late arrival, and were given a gift bag with one small wine, dried apricots, mints, chocolates, hand sanitizer, and a color book with crayons haha. Loved the room as it was spacious with a modern, woodsy vibe. We didn't have any issues with noise as others mentioned. Beds were comfy and large, stylish bathrooms, bath robes comfy.
Courtyard area is very nice with flame heaters, and we met a few very friendly staff members. Heavy fog this night brought out the eeriness! We eventually tried to grab a drink at Native Son, but a few guests were indulging a bit and broke some glasses, so the bartenders got annoyed and were very rude. We left and as we were walking by the front desk, they asked by we left so quickly. We just explained the situation, and the woman ran in the back and gave us 3 more mini bottles of wine! Unexpected but very nice of her! So 5 stars to the staff on caring about their guests.
Breakfast was delicious at Native Son in the morning, and they comped the entire bill even though we ordered Bloody Mary's and coffee on top of entrees.
We would definitely come back if we were ever in the area again! Even though a few areas of Merced felt sketchy, El Capitan felt like home.
