We get to the seat selection page and it’s asking for payment for our seats even though I am super elite, we are past the screen where I put in passenger info and my Aeroplan number and it recognizes Super Elite. I call general reservations and they say that because the account I booked with is not super elite then I don’t have that benefit? Which doesn’t make sense to me because of all the benefit pages say Super Elites and anyone traveling on the same booking get free seat selection. Nothing about who books it. I don’t wanna bother the concierge with this because of what’s going on in YVR and I’m sure they’re super tied up but I can’t help but thinking that agent is mistaking?
This explains why the economy standard reward reservation my partner and two kids (none of them having status) is on allows them to choose preferred seating for free. It seems for Aeroplan tickets, such privileges are associated with the person of booking, rather than the actual pax.
