The same flight thru BA--but on AA metal--is only 25,750 miles but taxes are $228 per person.

The problem is I have plenty of BA Avios and not enough AA miles to do 4 tickets each way. Any advice out there? I have plenty of Capital One points and Chase Ultimate Rewards--both transfer to BA but not to AA, as far as I know.

I am "newish" on FT. I did a search (british airways award taxes) and had no luck finding info. Thanks for any advice/help!
How soon are you flying? Can you -- or another adult in your group -- take advantage of the current Barclays/AA credit-card offer, which awards 60,000 AA miles after one purchase of any amount?

Note that it will take some time to get the card, make the purchase, and have the miles post. No guarantee that cheap AA awards will be available by then.
