This was mentioned to me by word of mouth, but I couldn't find anything online or on FT about it, so figured I ask the experts here.

I was told that BA (at one point in the past) allowed you to call in and hold an itinerary prior to booking it for oneworld partner redemptions, with the intention of transferring Avios points from other transfer partners (such as Amex MR points), so that you won't lose a redemption booking while the points are being transferred to Avios. I can somewhat see this happening for BA's own flights, but not for oneworld partner redemptions.

Has anyone experienced this before recently or in the past?
