British Airways award ticket taxes

Trying to plan a trip with the family to Europe (flying into Munich from CLT and flying out of Prague back home). I, mistakenly, thought that BA Award flight taxes were only high if flying through LHR. I found an AA flight direct to Munich for 30k miles ($5.60 in taxes). The same flight thru BA--but on AA metal--is only 25,750 miles but taxes are $228 per person.

The problem is I have plenty of BA Avios and not enough AA miles to do 4 tickets each way. Any advice out there? I have plenty of Capital One points and Chase Ultimate Rewards--both transfer to BA but not to AA, as far as I know.

I am "newish" on FT. I did a search (british airways award taxes) and had no luck finding info. Thanks for any advice/help!
