Regarding the Royal BC Museum, unfortunately it was gutted earlier this year with the closure/removal of the third floor Old Town exhibit with no replacement in sight. The exhibit was beloved by many and was the main attraction of the museum. Now there is still some interesting exhibits on the second floor but no third floor and no current visiting exhibition as far as I know. So unless you are particularly interested in a specific exhibition or have enough time in the city I would recommend taking a pass.
