I realize I'm a year too late with my reply (to be fair I didn't have an Aleon case when this was posted). I purchased an Aleon 17" Wheeled Business Case, and I've been very happy with it. At the time, I owned a Rimowa Classic Cabin S, and I was very disappointed with that purchase. I always poke around things I buy, and when I removed the lining on the Rimowa, I was amazed at the shoddy construction within. There is no internal reinforcement of corners, just some very jagged edges where the sheets of aluminum are bent around, and then a weird glue-like substance haphazardly drizzled in that area (if it was meant to completely cover the jagged edges or the gaps revealed by those edges, it failed). I was also underwhelmed by the amount of plastic in the case (which I knew before I had purchased), and in general I just didn't feel like it was money well spent. To be clear, this was purchased from their store on Madison Avenue, so there is no chance of this being a knock-off. I examined a friend's older Rimowa trunk and didn't find this shoddy ragged construction, although there was no reinforcement and the glue-like substance was used. There were some other minor issues (sticky lock, etc).

As a result of my dissatisfaction with Rimowa, I wanted to find another maker of aluminum luggage, preferably one that wouldn't have these same issues (and want worse in other respects). I checked out the cool looking Tumi 19 Degree series (a lot of plastic though), as well as Away. In the end I found Aleon, and ordered the tiny Wheeled Business Case. I had word shipping requirements that meant calling into their office, and I was very glad I did, as I got a lot of helpful advice from Jerry at Aleon. My issues with Rimowa might not be relevant to other buyers, but I think Aleon looks much better with so much aluminum everywhere and far less plastic on the outside (really just the handle and wheels). Best of all, when I opened the lining, I found that it looked just as professionally made and finished as the outside, and I was very happy to see that the metal corner reinforcements found on the exterior are duplicated inside the case. This not only looks better (in a part of the case you'll never see), but it also seems significantly more sturdy than what I found on my Rimowa. All in all I've been very happy for about a year now, although the case itself has proved too small for my needs (also it's small in the wrong dimensions, because it's almost square you really can't take good advantage of the reduced size in any meaningful way on an airplane, although I've got it to fit under the seat in front of me when needed. I actually found this post searching for anyone who's had experience with their larger carry ones, as I plan to buy another larger case for my travels.
