I've done part of what you mentioned such as Columbia River Gorge & OR coast (north to south). I will take a look at other places you recommended. Have yet to figure out how much time I can allocate for this road trip.

The book is still available; the last update was in 2017 evidently. It was Henry's Diner that vanished.

Depending on how many days you have, if you haven't seen them, google Joseph, Oregon and the Wallowas, and the Washington Channeled Scablands (or "coulee country,") both spectacular in the spring.
