I noticed when booking a couple of rooms on the Hilton Glasgow website this message is now posted, bolded key bits:

"After an extensive renovation, the Pool & Gym will reopen on 22nd December! Between 22nd December to 3rd January the use of the pool & wet area remains free of charge for hotel residence.

Operational Changes as of January 3rd for Hilton Glasgow Health & Fitness: Pool Area Booking & Access Charges apply. From January 3rd 2023 advance booking is required for access to the pool, spa bath, sauna and steam room areas. 90 minute slots are available at a £10 charge per adult and £20 for families. Limited pool slots are available. Access to the gym area is free of charge to hotel guests. Those using the gym area should arrive in gym attire and 'gym ready'."

Is skimming an extra £20 per room margin to go for a swim normal in a 4 star hotel? I've only seen this is in full on spa hotels, not ones with a pool and token hot tub/steam room as this one has.
It would need to be a pretty major refurb to justify it, as it was heading firmly towards being a dump last time I was in it.
