I second CWS. CLT is a relatively easy airport to connect through and has pretty light international volume compared to the other airports. Better seating on the 772 compared to old CW, and likely limited to no weather issues compared to ORD or PHL. For all of the flack that the ACs get there, they’re really not bad for a somewhat quiet place to sit before your flight down to TPA. I used to do CLT-TPA a ton and very rarely had issues with delays.
