Do you have a bag tag? What does your credit card offer for delayed baggage insurance? If AC locates the bag, they will send it to wherever you are. The problem is getting it to NZ before you leave.

​​​​​AC will probably reimburse you for reasonable expenses, but I have no experience with that. Others do.
