Yikes! I was thinking about doing a JAL year either in 2023 or 2024 since I'll be losing Star Alliance Gold with Asiana once that merger completes.
Having a proper lifetime status program like the carriers outside Japan would make a lot of sense so if it's interesting, I may choose to still go with them. I just hope they get more info out soon so I can properly plan my travel next year but they said end of 2023...
I'm also thinking about Iberia and SAS.
